There are usually ongoing road construction activities and lane closures on US 1 south of Florida City (Homestead).

Premiere Racing will be in regular contact with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and local agencies. We will post relevant information and updates as we learn about activities that might impact boats coming to Key West in December or January.
Individuals should contact the FDOT permit office (see below) directly regarding current travel/permit status for their particular transit times and dates as the situation is subject to change on short notice. Please be advised of the following permit requirements and be sure to make your arrangements as soon as reasonably possible.

8'6" and under do not require a permit
over 8'6" wide a load permit is required
10' - 12' also require a certified escort
over 12' and up to 16' wide require a law enforcement escort
from the front of the truck bumper to the rear of the trailer, the maximum length is 65' and this measurement must include any overhangs such as a mast.
Note: Blanket Permits are not valid through the Keys for boats over 10’ wide. You would need to apply with FDOT for an individual trip permit.
